Is there seriously just Bob the entire game? If there is than I suggest having the option to hire people froma pub. Here's how.
-Make an event with a character graphic
-Have the character say "Would you like me to join?"
-If the player says yes, have the person join. (un-check the "Initialize" box. I'm pretty sure this will allow the character to be the same as he/she was before he/she left the party if the player decides to drop that character)
-Have another event in the pub that removes all "Mercenary" characters, sort of as a reset button.
Okay, hows that? I can think up of some mercenary characters if you need me to elaborate.
